Total Lunar Eclipse This Wednesday




The evening of Wednesday, February 20th, all of North America will be treated to a total eclipse of the moon. So, you know... here's to clear skies.

damn, forecast calls for clouds and rain all week! I caught a couple back in phx, I enjoy the blood-red moon!

Know why the moon turns red during an eclipse?

When the earth passes between the moon and the sun the light that reaches the moon is the filtered light of all the sunrises and sunsets on earth at that moment.

That's what I call an astonishing shot! Almost hard to believe that this image was achieved with a camera and not done is PS.

Thank you! I used a Canon 20D at the prime focus of my Celestron telescope achieving a focal length of 1280mm.
